Paraeducator Career Ladders
Paraeducator career ladders provide instructional assistants and other paraeducators the opportunity to gain proper recognition and compensation for demonstrating increased skills and responsibilities required for movement through the progressively higher levels of a paraeducator job family.
By establishing career ladders for current instructional assistants to become higher-level paraeducators, with formal recognition of their skills and abilities, California's public schools would create a huge new resource for delivering quality education.
CSEA has worked with several school districts to implement local career ladder programs. Check with your CSEA chapter or school district for more information on local paraeducator career ladders.
