Video: From Roses to Rose Buds
James Petersen is the head custodian at Rose Avenue School. But he does more than empty trash and sweep classrooms. Jim teaches the children about gardening. Through his encouragement they learn responsibility and they learn how important it is to nurture their gardens.

2016 Members of the Year

5/6/16 CSEA announced its 2016 Members of the Year: Tim Ciolkosz, Darleen Edwards, Patricia Eldridge, Annie Nolen and Christina Valdivia.

2016 Classified School Employees of the Year

4/28/16 Six outstanding classified school employees were recognized this week by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson for their contributions and dedication to California’s public school students. Five of them are CSEA members.

Member named Bus Driver of Year

8/4/15 It takes nerves of steel and the patience of a saint to drive a school bus. Monterey COE Chapter 35 member Greg Perez was lauded for both and more when he was named the 2015 California Highway Patrol Bus Driver of the Year.
